You guys are on your own for a while. From the archives of The New Yorker. . Some nurses appear to use a microscope when looking at their career options. If we take the microscope metaphor further, picture a glass slide being placed on the apparatus upon which the nurse has placed a solution containing her limited perception of what she can do with her career. What will she see? Only what she knows she is able to see. Can we view our nursing careers with the same grand vision? Micro vs Macro On both my podcast, The Nurse Keith Show, and this blog, I've discussed how we need to take both the macro and the micro of our nursing careers into consideration. Undue focus on either aspect can drive us further from our aspirations and optimal career trajectory. A potentially dynamic career such as nursing need not feel like a ball and chain, or simply a form of drudgery serving as a tedious means to a financial end. I felt it important to translate it all, as the song appears only in the Spanish language version of the LDS Hymnal. This time of year lends itself perfectly to all kinds of ice experiments because they are relevant - nature is certainly making ice, so why not explore it? One way to go beyond just exploring ice is to look at all kinds of everyday items - both liquid and solid - to see which ones will freeze and which ones will not.
This experiment will give your students the opportunity to make hypotheses, you can ask them which items they think will freeze before attempting. Here are some items that you probably already have that you can experiment with:Water Juice Milk Dish Soap Corn Syrup Vinegar Vegetable Oil I suggest trying to have the same type and size container for each item so that you can keep the amount of liquid constant. Clear containers will work the best because the children will be able to see more of the item both before and after you had them in the freezer. Make sure to leave the items in the freezer plenty long enough to make sure that every item has the opportunity to freeze if it is going to. I suggest starting the experiment and making your hypotheses on day, putting the items in the freezer and leaving them there overnight, and then finishing the experiments the next day. After you've taken the items out of the freezer you can have some wonderful discussions about which items froze and which ones didn't, as well as why they may have frozen - or not frozen. I'll toss in a few shots of of a happier day. "Josky" long time Al G. Barnes elephant, big head easy to spot. For months, Libby messaged us to say how nervous she was about her impending half-marathon race. The entirety of her training consisted of wandering around Charlotte, NC and playing PokemonGo. Arriving in Disney, she suddenly claimed to be excited about the impending half-marathon, but I didn't really believe her. The truth is that Manning, O'Toole, and I sort of tricked Libby into signing up for the race. So when we received word of its cancellation, I half expected Libby to get up and do a song and dance for us. Instead, when I read the email of cancellation, she grew quiet for a while. When I was finished, she announced firmly, "Well, I'm still going to do it. The easiest is to actually do the actions, then take pictures of them doing the actions and review later.
Next, let them hide and find objects or stuffed animals for prepositions.
Books are also a good way to point out actions and prepositions. What does this mean? Well for one thing, you'll probably have noticed the new image to the right of this post with the Broken Egg Games logo on it. We were talking about being rejected by our friends, how we feel when that happens, and what can you do. Changing our mindset can help us when dealing with these difficult times. After our discussion, we made a "reel. " Before the group, I used notecards to write places and activities at our school where they may be interacting with friends. For example, "On the playground playing kickball" or "At lunch eating. " I allowed the students to pick a situation to draw on a sheet of paper with a dashed line across the middle. The top portion of the paper has a student asking if they can join and the others saying "no". Then the students picked a way to handle the rejection. Can Courts convey authority, or do they just interpret the law, which they are given by the Legislature? There is a concept of American constitutional construction that seeks to define and constrain government, called "separation of powers. But, interpreting the intent of constitutional framers can be a difficult endeavor.
